Queensland IT business CT4 is moving to Ballarat

Leading technology company CT4 is relocating its operations from Queensland to Ballarat, creating 62 new jobs in regional Victoria.

CT4 will invest $1.8 million in Ballarat, as it relocates to the Federation University Technology Park in Mount Helen, Buninyong MP Michaela Settle will announce on Friday 

The park is already home to IBM and Federation University’s Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation. 

CT4 has chosen to locate there above other national and international locations given Victoria’s reputation as an international tech hub, according to Ms Settle.

The company, formed in 2009, is a leading provider of cloud-based IT services. It has designed and developed a Virtual Security Operations Centre which helps businesses manage cyber-crime issues.

CT4’s new home will allow the business to build on its partnership with Federation University and leverage the university’s decade-long experience in cyber security, including the Internet Commerce Security Laboratory that specialises in innovative solutions for cyber-crime and big data industries.

The company will be able to collaborate with researchers, students and graduates.

Ms Settle said the establishment of CT4’s new base in Ballarat was another exciting project that would help build on Ballarat’s key strengths in the ICT and digital sectors. 

“It’s fantastic to see a successful technology company such as CT4 make the move to Ballarat. This is great news for the city and for regional Victorian jobs.”

The state government is supporting CT4 through the Regional Jobs Fund, which backs projects across regional and rural Victoria that grow jobs and support emerging industries.
